The objective of this card game is to strategically form groups comprising three or more cards of the same value. When a series of seven or more cards is achieved, it is referred to as a Canasta. Each card in American Canasta holds a specific point value. Cards ranked 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7 are each worth 5 points. The cards ranked 8, 9, 10, J (Jack), Q (Queen), and K (King) each carry a value of 10 points individually. Aces are valued at 20 points each. A unique feature of this game is the inclusion of the 2 card as a wild card, carrying a worth of 20 points. Additionally, Jokers also act as wild cards and possess a higher value of 50 points.
Keep in mind that clean canastas hold more value than those created with wild cards. Be strategic and consider blocking the discard pile to hinder your opponents from obtaining it!
